Online Registration and Submission

Online registration is possible from September 15, 2015 until February 6, 2016.

The following link guides you through the registration process.

1. Create a new Account

If you visit the registration site the first time it is necessary that you register with your personal data. For this, click on “Create a new Account” and fill in your personal data at https://cats.host/gamm2016/cats2/cats21/src/login/ . Before you do so, please, read these instructions carefully:

  • The address you fill in will be the billing address (Firstname and Lastname, Organisation, Department, Address, zip and City, Country) shown on your invoice as a default value. If you need the invoice to be billed to a different address, you can change the billing address during the step “Registration and Services” when making your payment – not here (see description below).
  • In the line “Memberships” you have the choice to tick “Bachelor/Master Student”. This is meant for students who are, or have been, enrolled in a mathematics bachelor or master study program during the current academic year, 2015/16. For these students registration is free, but they can contribute only to the mathematics students conference taking place during the meeting. If you tick this box, we kindly ask you to send (a scanned copy of) a document proving your student status by e-mail to dmv-gamm-2016_AT_tu-braunschweig.
  • In the line “Memberships” you also have the choice to tick “DMV Member” or “GAMM Member” or both, if this is the case. Then your registration fee is discounted by 55 €. The invoice for your registration fee and the additional services you have booked (e.g., conference dinner) will take this discount into account even though checking of your membership status may take a day or two.
Should you erronously have ticked one of the membership boxes without being member of DMV or GAMM, an additional invoice will be mailed to you by the conference office.
  • You can of course later change the contact data you have specified. Just login with your username and your password and click on “User Menu”, then “Personal Data”, and finally “Edit”.
  • Note that opening an account with “Creating a new Account” does not finish the registration process. For the actual registration you need to go through “Registration and Services” described below.

2. Registration and Services

After opening an account you can register for the conference and book other services, such as the conference dinner. For that, login with your username and your password at https://cats.host/gamm2016/cats2/cats21/src/login/ and click on “User Menu” and then “Registration and Services”:

  • REGISTRATION FEE AND DISCOUNTS: The registration fee is 270 € and includes access to the scientific sessions, the abstracts in digital form and the final program, access to the public lecture, all coffee breaks, and a certificate of attendance. It does not include accommodation nor the conference dinner.
    • The registration fee is 270 € and includes access to the scientific sessions, the abstracts in digital form and the final program, access to the public lecture, all coffee breaks, and a certificate of attendance. It does not include accommodation nor the conference dinner.
    • Early Bird Discount: The registration fee is discounted by 55 € if your payment arrives on our accounts on 31-Dec-2015 or before.
    • Membership Discount: The registration fee is discounted by 55 € for DMV members and for GAMM members.
    • Early Bird Discount and Membership Discount are additive: The registration fee is discounted by 110 € for DMV members and for GAMM members, whose payment arrives on our accounts on 31-Dec-2015 or before.
    • In case the registration fee is paid by bank transfer (Überweisung), there is yet another discount from 270.00 € to 250.00 €, from 215.00 € to 200.00 €, and from 160.00 € to 150.00 €, respectively.
  • VALUE ADDED TAX: All prices include 19% Value Added Tax (VAT). Depending on the country of origin of the participant and the account settling organization, the invoice shows prices including or excluding VAT.
    • If your registration fee is paid from your own private funds (typically the billing address is your private address in this case) then you tick the box Private (all countries). In this case all prices include VAT independent of your country of residence.
    • If your registration fee is paid by a german organisation or institution, like your employer (typically the billing address is the organisation’s address in this case) then you tick the box Organisation (Germany). In this case all prices include VAT.
    • If your registration fee is paid by a non-german organisation or institution, which is within the European Union (again, typically the billing address is the organisation’s address in this case) then you tick the box Organisation (non-german EU countries). In this case it is necessary that you provide the Tax Identification Number of the account settling organisation (we’re sorry for the trouble, but it’s EU law). All prices are charged excluding VAT and the invoice bears the notification Reverse Charge.
    • If your registration fee is paid by an organisation or institution, which is outside the European Union (typically the billing address is the organisation’s address in this case) then you tick the box Organisation (non-EU countries). In this case all prices are charged excluding VAT.
  • FEE WAIVERS:
    • While PhD/doctoral students also have to pay the registration fee, registration is free for bachelor and master students, i.e., for students who are, or have been, enrolled in a mathematics bachelor or master study program during the current academic year, 2015/16. These students must have ticked the corresponding box under their “Personal Data” and sent (a scanned copy of) a document proving their student status by e-mail to dmv-gamm-2016_AT_tu-braunschweig.
    • You may register an accompanying person free of charge. This accompanying person may attend the public lecture, the conference dinner, and other excursions organized during the conference.
  • DEADLINES:
    • Note that your registration is complete only after your payment has been received by us. So, please, finish the registration process with your payment. This can be done until 06-FEB-2016. Afterwards the online registration is closed.
    • Further note that your scientific contribution can be accepted only if your payment has arrived by 31-DEC-2015.
  • FORMS AND CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT: You may pay your registration fee and other fees by bank transfer (Überweisung) or credit card (VISA or MasterCard):
    • Bank Transfer: If you choose to pay by “bank transfer” (Überweisung), the invoice sent to you by e-mail bears all the information necessary for the bank transfer, in particular the data of the recipient (conference account) and the purpose of transfer (Verwendungszweck).
      – The confirmation of your payment is sent to you by e-mail as soon as the amount due arrives on our accounts.
    • Credit Card: If you select “credit card” your payment will be processed by the payment service provider VIVEUM. You may now choose to pay by your VISA card or your MasterCard. All you need is your card number, the expiry date and the card verification code.
      – The confirmation of your payment is sent to you by e-mail immediately after completion of the payment process.

3. Manage Submissions

After opening an account you can submit your scientific contribution to the conference until 18-Dec-2015 (see “Important Dates” in the menu list). For that, login with your username and your password at https://cats.host/gamm2016/cats2/cats21/src/login/ and click on “User Menu” and then “Manage Submissions”:

  • To submit the title and abstract of your scientific contribution click on “Create a new Submission”. Then type in the title and the abstract.
    • Make sure that both are written in plain LaTeX 2e.
    • Note that neither word nor pdf is an admissible format.
    • Further note that your abstract should not exceed one A4 page (after the conference you may submit a proceedings contribution), and for that reason the size of the abstract source code is limited to 5.000 characters which yields about 1,33 A4 pages of plain text.
    • Next, click on “Contributed Sections” under “Special Track” and choose the section number (S 01 – S 29), minisymposium number (MS 1 – MS 7), or young researchers minisymposium number (YR 1 – YR 5), to which you are submitting this title and abstract. Select “Plenary” for submitting title and abstract for a plenary lecture, the Prandtl lecture, or the public lecture.
    • Then click on “Contributed Sections” under “Alternative Special Track” and make the second best choice for the special track. This helps us accommodating your contribution in case there are too many submissions in your primary choice for the section.
    • Finish by pressing the “Submit” button.
  • After submitting your contribution, you may change it or add information such as co-authors by clicking on WWW in the last column, below “Actions”.
  • Note that your scientific contribution can be accepted only if your payment of the registration fee has arrived by 31-DEC-2015 (see “Registration and Services” above).
  • By clicking on the link below “Abstract”, you can preview your submission the way it will appear in the “Book of Abstracts”.

Please note that the usual length of a contributed talk in a section is 20 minutes.
